Lost is relative...

The answer is "NO! I am not lost, I just don't know where I am!"

  1. This statement sounds like a oxymoron or even hypocritical, but maybe I can explain.

Not knowing where you does not equal lost, it means you lost your bearings. So, if you are on the phone and the person helps identify where you are, all of a sudden you know where you are and can now get to where you want to go.

Being lost is, you can't explain to someone where you are, knowing that does not help and even after that, you still cannot get to where you want to go - this is truly lost.
